We want a clean, minimalistic look on the blank, so to avoid all the writing up above the handle. This ease of identification is useful during hot fishing hours, or just moving rods around in the boat. We use a simple numbering system, 1 through 6 represented by thread wrapping either in between the split grip, or right above the hook-keeper.
